This restaurant is one of the a small number of places where the fishermen still bring the fresh fish to the back door. The oysters from the raw bar are shucked to order and are incredible. The house specialty, "smoked fish dip" -- a kingfish is smoked on premises. The seafood kettle, with clams, mussels, shrimp, calamari, and fresh fish simmered in light tomato sauce with grilled veggies and red skinned potatoes, is scrumptious and served in its own pot. They always have fantastic entertainment Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday and a full bar.

I know it is a chain restaurant and bar. But I just don't care! I absolutely love Flanigans. Its a great South Florida chain and it's a lot of fun. For REAL, I don't think I've ever had a bad time there. The quality of the food to me is always good and the drinks are always, well there drinkks of course there good. Every day the ribs are tender and delicious but I love the atmosphere. Flanigans is a must visit to most native south Floridians. We all know of it. I love feel that everything I have ever eaten there is good. The ribs, fried shrimp, nachos, wings, fries, garlic rolls, burgers, philly cheesesteak, giuseppis pasta, they've all been so great.
I just stick with the ribs and burgers. Their bbq sauce is freaking awesome. The perfect blend of sweet and tangy. I put it on everything. I wish they would sell it in bottles like some other restuarants do with their sauce. People complain about it looking dirty, and it kind of does, but it's actually not. It's all part of the ora, I bet if they tried the make the place cleaner looking and fancy, people would stop coming. The interior decor is suppose to look like an old beat up boat, so it has the appearance of being dirty, but it's really not. It also stays open really late. I think the kitchen closes at 1, but the bar stays open to the wee hours.
It can be very slow and disorganized especially during the lunch and dinner rush. Also, as much as I love their ribs, they could be a little more meatier. Despite any cons, I will never stop eating at this place. I really enjoy it! I need it! Nothing like a good ole Joes meal deal with a half rack and a margarita on the rocks.
And don't forget to get your meal card stamped everytime you come because you will get a free meal when you feel up the card. And on Tuesday and Thursday's they have double stamp so it feels up quicker.

The "diverse menus" at these "reliable", "well-run" outposts of the American seafood focused chain perform right by most diners, no matter if they're in the mood for a "fish feast", "famous prime rib" or filling up at "over-the-top" salad bars; the Coconut Grove locale provides "beautiful views" of Biscayne Bay, however it could be more enjoyable watching "drunken boaters bang into the dock" at Ft. Lauderdale's professionally renovated Intracoastal opening (formerly Charley's Crab).
if you sit outside and the weather is pleasant you have a magnificent view of the inter coastal. food is good and service is very friendly. try the mud pie
